We welcome members of any age or ability (subject to capacity within the various groups)
We have around 16 teams regularly playing matches during the Winter and Summer Canterbury league. Some enthusiastic members also play in the Kent league and / or other leagues around Kent, such as Ashford, Thanet. Dover etc.
The club will always support you in your development. Most of the coaching / development is done on Sunday afternoons. However, if you have played and want to brush up on your game our practice sessions may also be suitable.
We also welcome group sessions which would be supervised by a club member. Feel free to contact the club Secretary for hall bookings/more information. We have 3 tables available and can supply bats and balls for the session.
JUNIOR COACHING AND PLAYING SESSIONS
Every Sunday between 10:30 until 3pm OR, every Monday between 10:30 and 1pm.
We have a qualified coach.
Arrive and leave anytime during that period and ONLY £2 per session, including squash refreshments if required.
Indoor sports shoes must be worn.
A person of any age, gender, or disability, wanting to learn how to play table tennis, or players that want to brush up their skills, can attend.
We have a top-quality robot and net available so as to enable players to practice their serves, basic ball coordination as well as the correct arm and hand strokes to return the ball.
Sanitiser available at the entrance door.
If you have played before and want to brush up on your game, play against stronger players, our practice sessions may be suitable.
Tuesday afternoons, 14:15 till 16:30, can accommodate new players of any age that can hit a table tennis ball. We have helped a few develop into league players.
Fridays from 19:30 till 22:30.
Sundays from afternoon until 22:30. (from about 7pm division 1-3 players tend to turn up)
Non member Fees
£3 per session per adult. £2 per session under 18 years old
Our annual fee is £5 (1 st September till 31 st August).
Practice sessions are £2:50 per adult per session and £1:50 for people under 18 per session.
If you want to play in a league there will be team fees to pay.
OVER 60’s Sessions
Monday afternoons (2pm till 4pm) , Tuesday mornings (10am till 12 noon) and Thursday afternoons (2pm till 4pm). Most members tend to play more social than competitive table tennis, and mainly doubles games when they are busy.

Over 60’s charge is £2:50 per session and refreshments are available F.O.C.
They have a morning and afternoon session every Wednesday. They have a wide range of ability players and like Over 60’s some just play for social activity.

WHERE ARE WE?
Swalecliffe avenue off Hampton Pier Avenue Herne Bay CT6 8EJ
We are the building at the back of the Recreation Ground adjacent to the public toilet block. Our entrance is the black door facing the Recreation Ground. We have a big “Herne Bay Table Tennis Club” sign above and at the side of the door.
Near the club is FREE car parking in the winter season, but charges apply daytime in the Summer!
