From 1st September 2023, charges for all sessions below are £3 for members, with visitors paying £5. Refreshments are included.

Practice Sessions

A number of practice sessions take place throughout the week, details below, and if you have played before and want to brush up on your game, play against stronger players, these sessions are just the ticket.

Tuesday afternoons, 14:15 till 16:30 – this session welcomes all players and can accommodate new players of any age that can hit a table tennis ball. We have helped a few develop into league players.

Fridays from 19:30 till 22:30.

Sunday afternoons from 1.30pm until 3:30pm.

Sunday evenings from 7.30pm until 10.30pm.

OVER 60’s Sessions

Monday afternoons (2pm till 4pm) , Tuesday mornings (10am till 12 noon) and Thursday afternoons (2pm till 4pm).

Most members tend to play more social than competitive table tennis, and mainly doubles games when they are busy. If you meet the age criterion and know how to hit a table tennis ball from your youth, you are welcome to just turn up.

University of the third age – U3A

Herne Bay Table Tennis Club host the local U3A membership on Wednesdays, with a morning and afternoon session.

The U3A is a nationwide network of learning groups aimed at encouraging older people to share their knowledge, skills and interests in a friendly environment.

They have a wide range of ability players and some just play for social activity.
